Over A Month After His Tragic Passing, DMX’s Final Body Of Work “Exodus” Has Arrived.

On April 9th, 2021, hip hop lost a legend when DMX took his last breath at White Plains Hospital in New York.  His death came as a complete shock as the hip hop community came together collectively to mourn. It was soon realized that the late great Earl Simmons had been working on a new album prior to his death that was practically finished. DMX‘s long time collaborator, Swizz Beatz let us known that the album was soon to come and here we are with that new body of work.

The project dropped Friday, May 28th at midnight and so far it is receiving much praise. Titled “Exodus” (named after his son who is also featured on the album), the project clocks in at 13 tracks and is feature packed. Big names such as Jay Z and Nas show up for guest features while Swizz handles the bulk of the production. The release is still bittersweet for fans knowing that this may be the last body of work that we ever get from X.

A major void was let in hip hop when DMX left us, yet his classic albums will always be here to remind us of his greatness. The emotions that his music could evoke could only be recreated by the greats of the genre. Earl Simmons known to the world as Dark Man X will live on thru his music. Rest in Peace to one of the best to ever pick up a mic, the legendary DMX.
