Lil Uzi Vert is back with a bang. The Philadelphia rapper dropped a new album called ”Pink Tape” on June 30th, which is now the first No.1 rap album on the Billboard charts. The album is a massive 26-track, 90-minute opus that showcases Uzi’s versatility, ambition and creativity as they explore new sonic territories and collaborate with some of the biggest names in the industry.
With his love for Japanese culture, emo, and rock music highlighted, he tackles more metalcore and upbeat type of songs on this album. The album includes guest artists such as Nicki Minaj, BABYMETAL, Travis Scott, Don Toliver, and Bring Me The Horizon. The reactions his fans are having are mixed. Is the album chaotic or is he very energetic? The “Pink Tape” has a lot of songs, and I honestly feel as if each song matches his vibe. It’s not really my style of music, but he most definitely makes a mark on each song he makes. You could play one of his songs to someone who doesn’t listen to him often and they would automatically guess that it’s Lil Uzi Vert’s song.
“The End (feat. BABYMETAL)” is a favorite, and his fans seem to love it. It has more of an anime vibe to it throughout the whole song. The album is surprisingly good, the songs are just different, but that’s expected from him. It’s not my taste in music but it may get a few more listens out of me.
3 Out Of 5 Barz
The album is not all metal and rock, though. Uzi also delivers some of their trademark bangers and party anthems, such as the lead single “Just Wanna Rock”, which peaked at number seven on the Hot 100 and became a viral sensation on TikTok.
The “Pink Tape” is a bold and adventurous statement from one of the most innovative and influential artists of their generation. Uzi proves that he are not afraid to experiment with different genres and styles, while staying true to his own vision and personality. The album is a colorful and chaotic journey that takes the listener to different worlds and dimensions, where anything is possible.
If you are a fan of Lil Uzi Vert or rap-rock music in general, you should definitely check out the “Pink Tape”. You can stream it on Spotify, Apple Music, Tidal or any other platform of your choice.
