The LOX gave us their debut album “Money,Power & Respect” and now 22 years later we are blessed with their 4th album release, “Living off Xperience.” Long gone are the days when New York dominated the genre, yet the Yonker’s legends hold on to the gritty boom bap sound that made them famous. The trio of top tier lyricists, Jadakiss, Sheek Louch and Styles P reunite for a breath of fresh air that hip hop much needs. At almost an hour runtime, the 14 track project has it’s share of big name features (T-Pain & Westside Gunn), yet it is the reuniting with DMX that has fans talking. The LOX rose to fame under Diddy and Bad Boy records, yet it was their Ruff Ryder days when their popularity exploded. So it was pure nostalgia to see the fellow Ruff Ryders back together on wax.
Producers Swizz Beatz, Scram Jones and Nottz make appearances to help bring that LOX sound to life. Yet it is the undeniable chemistry of the group mates that really set this album apart. So if you are a fan of WarLOX, be sure to give this project a listen.
