On June 19th, 2024, all eyes were on the west coast. Kendrick Lamar’s “The Pop Out” concert had officially kicked off and as it turned out, it was one for the books. Spanning over 3 hrs and being live streamed on Amazon, the concert did exactly what it was suppose to do, and that was put the West Coast back on the forefront. Yet with all the glory that came with the show, it was when Kendrick performed his career defining diss track “Not Like Us“, the pieces started to really come together.
Literally performing “Not Like Us” for 5 consecutive times during the show and seeing how the crowd responded, it became obvious that K Dot would keep the momentum going. And the only way to do that was to push out the visual for the scathing diss track. So here we are….
Rumors had been swirling for a weeks about the visuals, even with a few behind the scenes popping up over the net, so the anticipation had really started to build up. So on July 4th, a major surprise to Lamar fans all over the world, K Dot unleashed the video for “Not Like Us.” Loaded with Easter eggs and not so subliminal shots at his nemesis Drake, the video has amassed over 20 million views on Youtube and that number continues to grow.
