What do you get when you combine a ground breaking mixtape DJ with one of the greatest lyricists of this generation, along with a bonafide collective of mc’s? The end result is a new Dreamville album hosted by DJ Drama. J.Cole’s Dreamville collective have finally linked up with DJ Drama for their newest endeavor titled “DJ Drama & Dreamville Presents D-Day: A Gangsta Grillz Mixtape.” The projects boasts 15 tracks of pure heat. Bas, Cozz, Omen, Lute, JID, and EarthGang ,as well as Cole all link to display just how strong of a collective they are. But wait, if you thought this project was all hip hop, Dreamville’s R&B sensation Ari Lonnox even shows up to bless the project. So the album comes off as a well rounded affair.
Production is handled by some of the best in the business such as J. White Did It, AraabMuzik and even J.Cole himself. Most of the album is handled by the Dreamville family with features being limited to 5 tracks. West coast’s G Perico and New York’s A$ap Ferg are a few of the voices that show up for feature placement.
