Aye Fredro Starr, No One Asked For A Coronavirus Freestyle.
Fredro Starr, the head honcho behind the iconic 90’s hip hop group Onyx has decided without consent from the hip hop delegation to deliver a “Coronavirus” freestyle over a menacing instrumental. Now I must admit in true Onyx fashion, Fredro did not deviate from their hardcore sound. He raps over a Snowgoons instrumental and spits that New York gritty sound that made Onyx famous. Yet the subject matter will clearly be the downward spiral of this track. To add to the foolishness, the visual even has Fredro waving a Lysol can. I swear, I can not make these things up.
Hip hop fans will remember Onyx for the hardcore records that they debuted in 1993 such as “Slam” and “Throw Ya Gunz” which were pure octane. Even when Fredro went solo, he delivered introspective tracks like “What If” that would cement his position in hip hop. Yet in 2020 Fredro Starr is giving us a minutes worth of “Coronavirus” flames??? Nah bruh, we are good.
