Jeezy dropped off the original “The Recession” back in 2008 and the world was a lot different back then. We had just elected our first black president and the beef with Gucci Mane was still a hot topic. Fast forward 12 years later to 2020, where we just elected a black female vice president, the beef with Gucci is squashed and “The Recession 2” is upon us. It is amazing what can happen with time. “The Recession 2“, the 10th studio album by Jeezy finds the artist showing major growth. Sitting at 15 tracks, the album is Jeezy at his finest. Guest such as Rick Ross and Yo Gotti lend their vocals, yet it is the Demi Lovato feature that is eye-brow raising but it works. If you were expecting “Trap Or Die” Jeezy, turn this album off because clearly Jeezy is at a different place in his life. That is not to say that this album is bad, because it really is a great album, just have to accept the growth that Jeezy is displaying. Take “The Recession 2” by Jeezy for a spin below. Sound off in the comments and let me know what do you think of the album.
Jeezy and Rozay connect for the video for “Almighty Black Dollar“.
