Today the Grammys released their 2021 nominations and just as they have been for the past few years, it was controversial. Whether you dig the Grammys or not, they still seem to hold weight. Every year artist attack the Grammys for being “out of touch” with the culture, yet when the nominations are announced all hell break loose with the opinions. To be honest, this year’s “Best Rap Album” nominations have been some of the best I can recall from recent memory. All the nominations are lyrical driven albums which is extremely surprising.
#GRAMMYs Best Rap Album Nominees:
— chart data (@chartdata) November 24, 2020
ALFREDO – @FreddieGibbs & @Alchemist
Black Habits – @DSmoke7
A Written Testimony – @JayElectronica
King's Disease – @Nas
The Allegory – @Royceda59
D.Smoke,Freddie Gibbs, Jay Electronica,Nas and Royce Da 5’9″ round out the nominations for “Best Rap Album“. I am a huge fan of D.Smoke, but he was the most surprising artist to be seen on the list. So far the consensus of the hip hop community is that the biggest snubs for the category is Lil Baby and Roddy Ricch. Both artist went double platinum this year as well as provided hit records. So whether you support the choices or, sound off in the comments and let me know what you think.
