Dr.Dre first released “The Chronic“, his magnum opus of an album back in 1992. The album was named after the slang term for a potent strain of weed and the term became popular all over the country because of the impact of the album. “The Chronic” was and is still considered one of the best hip hop albums ever created. Artists such as Snoop, Daz and Nate Dogg were formally introduced to the world and the rest is history. Tracks such as “Fuck Wit Dre Day” and “Nuthin’ But A G’ Thang” instantly became hip hop classics which would eventually lead the album to be inducted into the Library of Congress (National Recording Registry). Now 28 years after the creation of this masterpiece, the album can be found on all streaming services for our listening pleasure. Before April 20th of this year, the album’s only home was on Apple Music, now that has all changed. With 4/20 being the smoking holiday that is has become, what better way to honor today than by listening to the one of the greatest albums ever. So fire up your preferred music streaming service and give “The Chronic” a listen.
