Lets take a trip back to the year 1996. A rap trio out of New Orleans going by the name of U.N.L.V. decided to spew straight spray venom on a diss track aimed at fellow Louisiana star Mystikal. Signed to a bubbling record label known as Cash Money Records, U.N.L.V. felt slighted by some words from a few of Mystikal songs and hopped on one of in-house producer Mannie Fresh’s instrumentals. The end result became known to the world as “Drag Em The River” and the rest is history. Even years later, Mannie’s infectious instrumental reared back up attached to fellow Cash Money artist Juvenile’s “Set It Off“.
