Quando Rondo, the rising star rapper from Savannah, Georgia, has just released his latest album “Recovery.” The project, which was released on March 24th, 2023, marks the rapper’s second studio album and features a collaboration with label boss and fellow hip hop star, NBA Youngboy. As of late Quando has been buzzing more for his life outside of the studio than for the music he creates in the studio. Whether it be the King Von shooting or getting shot at in California, Quando has been in the news for all the wrong reasons. Yet hopefully with this release, he can get back to making some dope music.
“Recovery” is a deeply personal and introspective album that explores themes of dealing with loss, healing and growth. Back in August 2022, Lul Pab, a family member of Quando was murdered, which lead to the inspiration for the album.
“Recovery” is a long album by today’s standards. It sits at twenty tracks and a run time of almost an hour. Most artists wait on the Deluxe version to drop, before dropping a massive load of tracks. Yet it seems that Quando clearly had a lot to get off of his chest. He handles nineteen of the twenty tracks solo, with the lone feature coming from NBA youngboy. Production is handled by his go-to-producer CxbGoCrazy and Bankroll Got It & Geo Vocals also lending support.
Regardless of the controversy, there is no denying that Quando Rondo is a talented artist with a unique perspective and a dedicated fanbase. He has proven himself to be one of the most promising young rappers in the game, and his future looks bright. As he continues to grow and evolve as an artist, it will be exciting to see what he has in store for his fans. If only he can just put the drama behind him.
